The 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC is the company’s first mainstream EV. Based on the GLC SUV, the EQC has unique styling and a redesigned interior.
The new EQC400 has an electric motor on each axle. Together they make 300kW (402hp) and 765Nm (564 lb-ft), and allow for four wheel drive operation.
With an 80kWh lithium ion battery, the EQC400 has a provisional NEDC range of over 450km (280mi). Top speed is electronically limited to 180km/h (112mph), 0-100km/h is done in 5.1s.
Because of its batteries, the EQC400 has a kerb weight of 2,425kg (5,346 lb). The EQC has a 7.4kW onboard charger, and supports different DC fast charging standards depending on the region – CCS for Europe and the USA, CHAdeMO for Japan, and GB/T for China.
Available equipment includes the MBUX infotainment system, and EV friendly navigation. The EQC goes on sale from mid 2019.
