The 5L supercharged V8 which powers many Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover will eventually be dropped in favor of a turbocharged Ingenium I6 engine.
According to Autocar, the high performance version of the new Ingenium I6 will have electrically powered turbochargers to improve gas mileage and eliminate lag.
Autocar doesn’t say when the downsized I6 engine will begin replacing the V8, or which will be the first model to receive the performance Ingenium I6 engine.
