Pascal Ruch, Lexus Europe’s new boss, is keen to grow the luxury brand’s sales on the Continent from 75,000 to 100,000 per year.
Ruch told Autocar the brand now has a complete range of cars, and a consistent design, and these qualities will help Lexus broaden its appeal and gain sales.
He also said growth won’t come at the expense of the company’s traditional values of service, reliability and quality.
He made no apologies for the brand’s controversial styling or its spindle grille, which debuted in 2012.
“What we did was different and necessarily so. We arrived in 1989 as a disruptor brand. We laid foundations in quality and we have now taken that facet and applied it to something different,” Ruch said.
