The world’s best selling D/E segment sedan returns in 2019 to Western Europe after 14 years, and will be sold as a fuel efficient hybrid only.
Popular in Asia, America and eastern Europe, the Camry sells around 700,000 units per year. The sedan is sold in over 100 countries worldwide, and 19 million Camrys have been sold to date.
It will be sold in Western Europe from the first quarter of 2019 with a standard 2.5-liter I4 hybrid powertrain. Total power output is 155kW (208hp), and the 2.5L makes 131kW (176hp) and 221Nm (163 lb-ft), while the electric motors make 88kW (118hp) and 202Nm (149 lb-ft).
In the US, the low spec models have a 6.5Ah Ni-MH battery with a 5.1L/100km (46mpg) combined EPA rating. High spec models have a 4Ah lithium ion battery with 4.5L/100km (52mpg) combined EPA rating.
