Complain all you want about boring cars, but because no-one bought the Juke, we’re now getting the plain Jane, boring as you like Nissan Kicks instead.
The Nissan Kicks comes with a standard 1.6-liter 4-cylinder with 125hp (93kW) and 115 lb-ft (156Nm), and a Xtronic CVT. No manual, no crazy turbo, no crazier model with a GT-R engine. Just this heap of meh.
Although it’s styled like an SUV, the Kicks is FWD only. At least mileage will be okay: 31mpg (7.6L/100km) city, 36mpg (6.5L/100km) highway, 33mpg (7.1L/100km) combined.
The Kicks S starts at under US$18,000, and has standard 16-inch steel wheels with 205/60 all season tires, automatic emergency braking, auto headlights, 3 USB ports, Bluetooth, keyless entry, push button start.
The Kicks SV has 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/55 all season tires, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with a 7-inch touchscreen, heated mirrors and handles, tonneau cover, remote engine start, and satellite radio.
The Kicks SR adds surround view cameras, LED low beam, black mirrors with turn signals, leather steering wheel and shift knob, rear spoiler, dark chrome accents, and body color bumper inserts.
