2018 Nissan GT-R GT3 has been thoroughly reengineered, and has a new dry sump turbo engine that sits lower and 150mm (5.9″) further back for better weight distribution.
The dry sump 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 (VR38DETT) makes over 405kW (543hp) at 6,500rpm, and more than 637Nm (470 lb-ft) at 5,000rpm. While the road legal GT-R has an advanced all wheel drive system, the GT3 is RWD.
It is fitted with a 6-speed sequential, a metal 5.5 inch 4-plate clutch, and independent double wishbone suspension. There’s 18-inch wheels with 330/710-18 tires.
Other changes include redesigned suspension, improved rigidity, new transmission with longer maintenance cycle, stronger brakes, and an optional air conditioning system developed specifically for the GT3.
The new Nissan GT-R GT3 replaces the 2012 model, and deliveries begin in January 2019. Prices start at ¥60,000,000 (US$54,830) excluding taxes and shipping.
