The Microbus/Transporter/Kombi/Bulli is finally back into production. Going on sale in 2022, the new minivan will be electric and based on the ID Buzz concept.
The announcement was made at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California. The small EV minivan will be sold in North America, Europe, China.
Based on the ID Buzz concept, the production car will “incorporate many design ideas from the concept car [including] variable seating, interactive connectivity and highly automated driving.”
In addition to the minivan, there will also be a Cargo variant, “a Level 3 [delivery van] that boasts a high degree of automated driving capability.”
