The fifth generation Subaru Impreza has won the 2016-2017 Japan Car of the Year title, and is only the second Subaru car to win after the 2003 Legacy.
The new Subaru Impreza is selling well in Japan with the company exceeding its initial sales target of 2,500 cars per month with 11,050 orders in the first month after its October 13 sales launch.
51% of orders for the new Impreza are from buyers switching from other brands.
The new Impreza is the first to car to built on Subaru’s Global Platform, and is also the first Impreza to be built in the USA too.
