Built on an new flexible electric platform, the Jaguar I-Pace concept previews a new SUV due in 2018 that will take on the Tesla Model X, and Audi e-tron.
The Jaguar I-Pace has front and rear electric motors that make a total of 294kW (395hp / 400PS), and 700Nm (516 lb-ft). The I-Pace has a 0 to 60mph time of around 4 seconds.
The 90kWh lithium ion battery pack is good for a range of over 500km (310mi). Using a 50kW DC charging station, the I-Pace can get to 80 percent charge in 90 minutes, and 100 percent charge in around two hours.
Rides on 23-inch alloy wheels, with double wishbone suspension at the front, and integral link suspension at the rear.
Not only is the body exceptionally sexy, it has a coefficient of drag of 0.29, that’s incredibly low for a tall SUV.
As its built on a new EV platform that doesn’t need to make space for large gas or diesel engine, the I-Pace’s body has a cab forward design, meaning that it has a flat floor, a frunk (forward trunk), and is exceptionally roomy despite only being 4,680mm long (184.3 inches).
The cabin has two touchscreens (one for the infotainment/navigation, and one for climate control), and a virtual instrument panel.
