The Volkswagen Amarok pickup is now available with a range topping 3-liter V6 turbo diesel option, with a maximum output of 165kW (221hp) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft).
Against its competitors in the global pickup market, the Amarok is only one to offer a V6 turbo-diesel. The Ford Ranger and Mazda BT-50 both have a turbo I5, while the Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200/Triton, Chevrolet Colorado and others offer turbo 4-cylinder diesels.
The new V6 TDI option in the Amarok will be offered in three output levels: 120kW (161hp), 150kW (201hp), and 165kW (221hp). The V6 TDI can be paired with RWD, 4Motion with 6-speed manual and a driver enabled front axle, and a permanent AWD system with Torsen differential and 8-speed auto.
The V6 TDI option for the Volkswagen Amarok goes on sale from September 2016 in Europe.
