Four models in the US Volvo range (the S60, S90, V90 Cross Country, and XC60) will be available with B5 and B6 mild hybrid powertrains.
The B5 models have a 2L turbocharged I4, while the B6 models have 2L I4 with both turbocharging and supercharging.
Because of the 48V mild hybrid system, the new 2022 B5 and B6 models will have modest fuel economy gains over the T5 and T6 models they replace.
The new B5 and B6 models are about 3mpg better in the city and combined ratings, but only 1mpg better on the highway, which makes sense as the mild hybrid system does most of its work during stop and start traffic.
