The next generation Toyota Tundra, due in 2021 or 2022, could have a fuel efficient hybrid powertrain with a twin turbo V6 engine.
A source has told TFL Truck Toyota is working a hybrid powertrain for its next generation Tundra, which will use a 3.5L turbo V6 similar to the one in the Lexus LS500h.
The new system will reportedly make around 450hp (336kW) and 500 lb-ft (678Nm), have a 30+ mpg (7.8L/100km) rating, and a lithium ion battery.
Reports elsewhere say the new Tundra will based on the next generation Tacoma platform.
