Fiat Chrysler is no more, but it finally has a big body on frame SUV to compete with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade.
The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer is based on the (DT) Ram 1500 pickup truck. Both the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer have the same length and wheelbase, the Grand merely refers to the level of luxury available.
The Wagoneer has a 5.7 V8 mild hybrid with 292kW (392hp) and 548Nm (404 lb-ft), and the Grand Wagoneer has 6.4L V8 with 351kW (471hp) and 617Nm (455 lb-ft).
Both cars have an 8-speed auto, and a choice of 3 4WD systems, although the SUV isn’t “trail rated” because it’s “too big” — and no-one really cares anymore.
The Grand Wagoneer has a fancier interior with more and larger screens, including one for the front passenger.
Three rows of seats are standard. There are 8 seats with a middle row bench, or 7 seats with captain’s chairs in the middle row.
