The 10th generation Civic was all about sportiness, with its fastback shape, and oversized vents and intakes. The new Civic emphasizes luxury, and has a much more conservative design.

The 11th generation Civic uses the same platform as the previous model, but the wheelbase has been stretched about 37mm (1.5-in). The fastback shape is gone, and the sedan is more obviously a sedan.

Honda's crab claw taillights are no more. Under the hood, the Civic (in the US) is offered with carryover 2L I4 and 1.5L turbo I4 engines with just a few more horsepower.

The interior is much more luxurious with a restrained and tasteful design, and includes a retro speaker grille section along the middle of the dashboard.

Top models have a 9-in touchscreen, while cheaper versions have a 7-in screen. The gear shifter has been moved closer to the driver, and the cupholders are in a better place.
