The Honda Civic’s conservative new suit makes the new sedan a bit too dull, but it’s a big improvement for the previously overstyled hatch.
Gone are ridiculously oversized fake intakes and vents. The new exterior works well with the hatchback profile, and (just like the sedan) the classy new interior is a huge improvement over the old car.
At launch in the US there’s a 2L I4 with 158hp (118kW) and 138 lb-ft (187Nm), and a 1.5L turbo I4 (for the EX-L and Sport Touring) with 180hp (134kW) and 177 lb-ft (240Nm).
A 2L turbo I4 will join the range later in the crazy Type R, which will keep its signature oversized rear wing.
