The new Mark VIII Volkswagen Golf R is available with a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual, but the stick is only for the US and Canada.
The Golf R’s engine is a 2L turbo I4 with 235kW (315hp) and 420Nm (310 lb-ft). A torque vectoring AWD system (front to rear, between the front wheels, and between the rear wheels) is standard.
The R has a 0-100km/h time of 4.7s, and a top speed of 250km/h (155mph). This can be increased to 270km/h (168mph) with the R Performance package.
Oh, there’s also a Drift Mode!
The R has bigger brakes, 19-in wheels, new bumpers, bigger exhausts, Nappa leather seats, and 10-in touchscreen.
