Not only does the plug-in hybrid 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime save fuel and cut greenhouse emissions, it’s also the most powerful factory RAV4 of all time.
Even more powerful than the old 2006 to 2012 RAV4 V6, which had a 201kW (269hp) 3.5L V6 and a 0-60mph time of 6.3s.
The new 2021 RAV4 Prime has a total of 225kW (302hp) from its PHEV powertrain, which has a 131kW (176hp) 2.5L Atkinson cycle hybrid and two electric motors for on-demand electric AWD.
The 0-60mph time is 5.8s, and it has a lithium ion battery for 63km (39mi) of pure EV driving.
The RAV4 Prime goes on sale summer 2020 in SE and XSE grades.
