The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has been confirmed, but we don’t know any details about the car’s powertrain ahead of its November 20, 2019 debut.
It’s unlikely it will use the 1.8L setup from the Prius Prime, as the regular RAV4 Hybrid has a 2.5L I4 engine and e-AWD, features missing from the Prius Prime.
The Prius Prime PHEV 8.8kWh battery and an EPA EV range of 25mi (40km).
We’ll know for sure when the LA Auto Show starts. Toyota has confirmed RAV4 PHEV will be available in a new color: supersonic red.
