2021 Nissan Rogue: Edgier SUV with more tech, better interior

It’s still sorta bland, but the new Nissan Rogue (X-Trail outside of North America) has a new platform (shared with Renault), more tech and a better cabin.


In the US, the new Rogue is on sale from fall 2020.

The only engine is a 2.5L I4 (GDI) gas engine with 135kW (181hp) and 245Nm (181 lb-ft), CVT, and FWD or AWD.

Available features include 10.8-inch head-up display, 7.0- or 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, floating 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, 4-door Intelligent Key, tri-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, motion activated tailgate, pull up sunshades, rear doors open nearly 90 degrees, “butterfly” opening front center console, and Remote Engine Start.

Standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Rear Automatic Braking, Intelligent Driver Alertness technology, and Rear Door Alert.

More expensive models also come with Blind Spot Intervention, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intelligent Cruise Control.
