DS wants to be mainstream luxury with sexy French styling, and the new DS 4 is proof of that with a seductive interior and exterior.
Based on the same EMP2 platform as the Peugeot 308 — and the next generation Opel/Vauxhall Astra — the DS 4 is French in design, but built in Germany at an Opel plant.
The DS 4 is available with luxury features like road scanning adaptive suspension, matrix LED headlights, invisible air vents, a trick head up display that seems to be 4m (13ft) down the road, flush door handles, and Nappa leather.
Topping the range is the 166kW (222hp) DS 4 E-Tense plugin hybrid with a 133kW (178hp) 1.6L I4, 81kW (108hp) electric motor, and a 12.4kWh lithium ion battery. WLTP EV range is around 48km (30mi).
There are also gas engines rated at 95kW (128hp), 132kW (177hp), and 166kW (222hp), and the diesel with 95kW (128hp).
The DS4 goes on sale Q4 2021 in Europe.
