The 2020 Subaru Outback has a new platform, wider tailgate opening, a bit more space, more luxurious interior, and better safety, but looks the same.
There are two engines in the new Outback.
The base 2.5L H4 has 182hp (136kW) at 5,800rpm and 176 lb-ft (239Nm) at 4,400rpm, and an EPA 26/33mpg city/highway rating.
The old car’s 3.6L H6 is replaced by a 2.4L turbo H4 with 260hp (194KW) at 5,600 rpm and 277 lb-ft (376Nm) of torque at 2,000rpm, and an EPA 23/30mpg city/highway rating.
Both engines have standard AWD and a CVT with 8-speed manual mode.
Available features include a 11.6″ touchscreen infotainment system, 12-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, double stitched faux leather dashboard cover, hands free tailgate, 10-way power adjustment for the front seats, LED steering responsive headlamps, and adaptive cruise with lane centering.
The new Outback goes on sale during the fall of 2019.
