The 2020 Nissan Frontier looks the same as the 2019 model, but it has an all new engine taken straight from the long awaited next generation model.
The 2020 Frontier has a new 3.8L direct injection V6 with 231kW (310hp) with a standard 9-speed auto. Although the new 3.8L V6 has 37kW (49hp) more than the 4L V6 it replaces, Nissan expects mileage will improve.
The new V6 has 93% new or redesigned parts, and will be built at the company’s engine plant in Dechard, Tennessee, which also makes the 5.6L Endurance V8 used in the Titan pickup.
The entry level 2.5L I4 has been dropped from the range, so the 3.8L V6 is the only engine available.
The 2020 Frontier goes on sale spring 2020.
