The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is a 3 row SUV with up to 8 seats. It replaces the Santa Fe XL, and has unique body and upscale (almost luxury) interior.
The new Palisade is not just a long wheelbase Santa Fe, either it is significantly wider (up 3.4″), longer (8.3″), taller (5.3″) and has a longer wheelbase (5.3″).
The Palisade comes standard with a direct injection Atkinson cycle 3.8L V6 with 291hp (217kW) at 6,000rpm and 262 lb-ft (355Nm) at 5,000rpm, and an 8-speed automatic. FWD and H-Trac AWD versions are available.
The crossover rides on standard 18″ wheels with 245/60 tires, and 20″ wheels with 245/50 tires are available.
Standard safety features (known collectively as SmartSense) include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot collision avoidance, lane keeping assistance, automatic high beam operation, driver attention warning, smart cruise control with stop and go operation, rear cross traffic alert, and safe exit assist.
Optional features include rear occupant warning, Blue Link remote services (3 years of membership are included free), power operated third row seats, One Touch second row seats, a 10.25″ touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3″ digital instrumentation screen, diffused rear vents, heads up display, and wireless smartphone charging.
For a family hauler, it’s also important to note there are up to 16 cupholders, and 7 USB ports.
