As part of its 2020 facelift, Honda CR-V will only be available in the US with two powertrain options: a 1.5L turbo I4 or a new 2L hybrid I4.
The new Honda CR-V Hybrid uses the same powertrain in the Accord Hybrid with two electric motors and a 2L Atkinson cycle I4 gas engine. Total system output is 212hp (158kW), and 50% improvement in city mpg to around 42mpg (5.6L/100km).
The Hybrid’s battery and control systems will be located under the trunk floor, so it will still have a 60/40 split fold rear seat and flat floor, although some cargo space will disappear.
For 2020, the CR-V will come standard with a 190hp (142kW) 1.5L turbo I4 as the 2.4L I4 has been deleted from the range.
