The hybrid powertrain has been dropped from the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu range, so the only way to get an electrified Chevrolet now is to buy the Bolt EV.
A Chevrolet spokesperson confirmed the Malibu Hybrid’s to Green Car Reports.
The Malibu Hybrid was introduced for the 2016 model year, and had a total 182hp (136kW) from its 1.8L I4 and electric motor. It had a top EV speed of 55mph (89km/h), but the small 1.5kWh battery limited the amount of pure electric driving you could do.
The Malibu Hybrid had a 46mpg (5.1L/100km) EPA rating, which isn’t quite as good as the Honda Accord Hybrid (48mpg) or Toyota Camry Hybrid (52mpg).
