2020 BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe has everything the coupe and convertible has, but more of it thanks to a longer wheelbase and body.
The 8-Series Gran Coupe has a 201mm (7.9″) longer wheelbase than the coupe, and, obviously two extra doors.
At launch there will be four drivetrains engines available:
- 840d xDrive: 3-liter I6 turbo diesel with 235kW (320hp), and 680Nm (501 lb-ft). 0-100km/h in 5.1s.
- 840i: 3-liter I6 turbo with 250kW (335hp), and 500Nm (369 lb-ft). 0-100km/h in 5.2s.
- 840i xDrive: 3-liter I6 turbo with 250kW (335hp), and 500Nm (369 lb-ft). 0-100km/h in 4.9s.
- M850i xDrive: 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 with 390kW (530hp), and 750Nm (553 lb-ft). 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The Gran Coupe is about 0.2 seconds slower to 100km/h than the comparable coupe model.
