The 2019 McLaren 720S Spider has a new folding carbonfiber hardtop, which can raise or lower itself in 11 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h (31mph).
The hardtop is available with a electrochromic glass panel that can be electronically switched between tinted and see through.
The 720S Spider, like the coupe, is powered by McLaren’s 4L twin turbo V8 with 530kW (710hp or 720PS) and 770Nm (568 lb-ft).
Its top speed with the roof up is 341km/h (212mph), which is reduced to 325km/h (202mph) when the roof is down.
The Spider’s 0-100km/h time of 2.9 seconds is the same as the coupe. The Spider has a 0-200km/h time of 7.9 seconds.
Deliveries of the McLaren 720S begin March 2019, and prices in the UK start from £237,000 (US$301,500).
