The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison not only looks tough, but it wants to get dirty, very dirty, but in an offroad type of way.
A collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), the Bison is based on the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.
The Bison is fitted with an exclusive grille with Chevrolet lettering, wider fender flares, 31″ Goodyear Wrangler Duratec offroad tires, new 17″ wheels, steel front and rear bumpers, fog lamps, and spaces for a winch and built-in recovery points.
For heavy offroad work, main undercarriage components are protected by five new hot stamped Boron steel skid plates, including one over the engine oil pan, fuel tank, the front and rear locking differentials, and the transfer case.
Other unique features include Bison decals on the side of the bed, an AEV Bison logo on the tailgate, and the AEV logo on the floor liner and front seat headrests.
Options include an AEV snorkel. The Colorado ZR2 Bison comes standard with a 3.6L V6 and an 8-speed auto, while a 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel with 186hp (139kW), 369 lb-ft (500Nm) and a 6-speed auto is optional.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison goes on sale from January 2019, and is available in crew cab with short bed or extended cab with long bed configurations.
