The Volkswagen Up GTI “near-production prototype” at Worthersee 2017 has the same philosophy, and similar dimensions, to the original Golf GTI.
The Volkswagen Up GTI has a turbocharged gas engine with 85kW (114hp) and 200Nm (148 lb-ft). Weighing 997kg (2,198 lb), the Up GTI will have a top speed of 197km/h (122mph), and a 0-100km/h time of 8.8s.
Changes include GTI badging, a new grille, new front bumper, 17-inch wheels, 15mm (0.6 inch) lower suspension, tartan trim, red stripes, new shift lever, and rear spoiler
The Volkswagen Up GTI goes on sale early 2018.
