2018 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has 700Nm (516 lb-ft)

The second generation Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is a PHEV unlike, say, the Chevrolet Volt. It’s fast, sexy, and bursting with power and torque.

The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has a total system output of 340kW (462hp) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft). The drivetrain consists of an electric motor with 100kW (136hp) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) that can be used straight away, unlike the first generation car which required the gas pedal to be at least 80 percent depressed.

There’s also a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 gas engine with 243kW (330hp) and 450Nm (332 lb-ft). Together they power an all-wheel drive system via a new 8-speed dual-clutch (PDK) transmission.

The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has a 0 to 100km/h time of 4.6 seconds, and a top speed of 278km/h (173mph). Fuel economy (NEDC) is 2.5L/100km (94mpg) and CO2 emissions is 56g/km.

In electric only mode, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has a driving range of 50km (31mi) and a top speed of 140km/h (87mph).

There’s a 14.1kWh lithium-ion battery pack (up from 9.4kWh) under the trunk floor that takes 5.8 hours to fully recharge using a 230V 10A power supply and the built-in 3.5kW charger. The optional 7.2kW charger drops recharging time to 3.6 hours.

The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is available to order now in Germany, with pricing from €107,553. Deliveries in Europe begin mid-April 2017.
