The second-gen Infiniti QX80 will have a new body and interior, but will keep the current car’s body on frame platform and its 5.6-liter V8 gas engine.
At the 2017 New York Auto Show, Infiniti unveiled the QX80 Monograph Concept, which previews the second generation QX80.
Roland Krueger, president of Infiniti, told Motor Trend, the new QX80 will go into production by the end of 2017, and will have the same architecture and powertrain as the current car.
The current Infiniti QX80 is based on a Nissan Patrol (Armada in the US) with different front and rear ends, and a more luxurious interior.
The QX80 has a 5.6-liter V8 with 400hp (298kW) and 413 lb-ft (600Nm). A smaller turbocharged 6-cylinder may also be available.
