The first hot N model is here, the Hyundai i30 N, designed mainly for Europe. It targets the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and has a 2-liter turbo 4-cylinder motor.
Like the Volkswagen Golf GTI, the i30 N comes in two packages: standard and Performance Package, both with a 2-liter turbo GDI 4-cylinder gas engine.
Both models only have a 6-speed manual with rev matching and launch control. An 8-speed DCT is coming in 2019.
The Hyundai i30 N standard has 184kW (247hp) at 6,000rpm, and 353Nm (260 lb-ft) at 4,000rpm. It has a 0-100km/h time in 6.4s, and a 250km/h (155mph) top speed.
Standard features include 18-inch wheels with 225/40 Pirelli tires, new aerodynamics, bumpers, lower electronic controlled suspension, electronic sound generator, and 5 driving modes.
And the Hyundai i30 N Performance Package with 202kW (271hp) at 6,000rpm, and 353Nm (260 lb-ft) between 1,450 and 4,500rpm. It has a 0-100km/h time in 6.1s, and a 250km/h (155mph) top speed.
The Performance Package gains 19-inch wheels with 235/35 Pirelli tires, an electronic LSD, and variable valve exhaust mechanism.
The new Hyundai i30 N goes on sale in Europe by the end of 2017.
