The RWD Holden Commodore SS, with its 304kW (408hp) 6.2-liter V8 and 6-speed manual, will be replaced in 2018 with the 3.6-liter V6, AWD, auto only VXR.
The new 2018 Holden Commodore VXR shares its styling changes and powertrain with the Buick Regal GS. Both have a 3.6-liter V6 with 235kW (315hp) and 381Nm (281 lb-ft), a Twinster AWD system from the Ford Focus RS, Brembo front brakes, Continuous Damping Control suspension, and a 9-speed auto.
The NG Commodore VXR has standard 20-inch wheels, adaptive LED matrix headlamps, adaptive cruise control, heated and cooled leather front performance seats, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and head up display.
The VXR goes on sale with the rest of the new Commodore range in 2018, and will be fully imported from Germany where it is built alongside the Opel Insignia and Buick Regal.
