The next generation Buick Regal has reportedly been shown to dealers in wagon form, and should be ready in time for the 2018 model year.
As we all know the Buick Regal is a federalized Opel Insignia. But whereas the Insignia is sold as sedan, hatch and wagon, the Regal is only sold in North America as a sedan.
That’s set to change with the next generation. A poster named 97GreenRS posted recently, “Buick-GMC had it annual dealer meeting this week in Austin TX. Dealers were shown the 2018 Buick Enclave, GMC Terrain and 2018 Regal and Regal GS. Most importantly it will be available in the U.S in wagon form. I dont have any info on powertrains as of yet.”
This isn’t the first time that a Regal has been rumored. Last year Buick trademarked the Regal Tourx name, and it could be used on an American version of Insignia Country Tourer, a jacked up, Outback style wagon.
