The new Buick Regal for the US will be sold only as a hatchback and wagon. The Regal sedan that’s currently under development is only for China.
Unlike the current Regal, the new one will be imported from Germany, and will be a straight rebadge of the Opel Insignia Grand Sport hatch, which kinda looks like a sedan, and the Insignia Sports Tourer wagon, which will will be Buick’s first traditional wagon in 20 years!
The current Regal is based on the original Opel Insignia, but was built in Oshawa, Canada, and was available in the US only as a sedan. The first generation European Opel Insignia was available as a sedan, hatch of wagon.
The new Regal will be unveiled on April 4, and go on sale later this year.
