The new BMW M5 will launch soon, and has an updated 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but a new M xDrive AWD system with RWD only mode.
The sixth generation 7-speed DCT and US only 6-speed manual are gone, replaced by an 8-speed ZF auto. There are three stability control modes (DSC on, MDM, DSC off), and three AWD modes (4WD, 4WD Sport, 2WD).
In the new M5, the updated 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 is reported to have 462kW (620hp) and 750Nm (553 lb-ft).
