The second generation Audi A5 and S5 cabriolet are all new, but (surprise!) have an evolutionary body that’s slightly more aggressive.
The Audi A5 cabrio will launch in Germany with a 2-liter gas turbo with 185kW (252hp), a 2-liter turbo diesel with 140kW (190hp) and a 3-liter diesel V6 with 160kW (218hp).
Later the range will gain a 2-liter gas turbo with 140kW (190hp) and a 3-liter TDI with 210kW (286hp).
At the top, the range topping S5 has a 3-liter turbo V6 gas engine with 260kW (354hp), an 8-speed automatic, AWD, a 0 to 100km/h time of 5.1 seconds, and a top speed of 250km/h (155mph).
The new A5/S5 cabrio a lighter body and platform that saves around 40kg (88 lb). It’s available with a 8.3-inch infotainment system, LTE, Wi-Fi hotspot, traffic jam assist, and collision avoidance assist.
The A5 cabriolet goes on sale from March 2017 in Europe. The A5 is priced from €49,350, and the S5 from €67,800.
