With Scion brand about to fold, the Scion iA as the Toyota Yaris iA, marking the first time that a Mazda will be sold as a Toyota in the US.
The Scion iA, which is a version of made in Mexico DJ Mazda 2 sedan with different badges and big gaping grille, will be rebadged as the Toyota Yaris iA.
In Canada and Puerto Rico, the iA was already sold as the new Toyota Yaris sedan, and is sold alongside the in-house developed Yaris hatch. The company hasn’t developed a sedan version of XP130 Yaris hatch that’s sold in Europe and America.
The Asian XP150 Yaris hatch already has an accompanying sedan, which is sold in many places as Vios.
