Now that we’re over the disappointment (sorta) that the new Subaru Impreza isn’t as sexy as the Concept, here’s the good news: it’s only US$100 more than the old car.
Built on the new Subaru Global Platform that will also go underneath the next generation Legacy, Forester, and the long awaited 7-seat SUV that replaces the long gone Tribeca.
The new fifth generation Impreza is available in the US in four trim levels: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport, and 2.0i Limited. Imprezas with a CVT go into showrooms late 2016, while the 5-speed (what?!?) manual versions of the 2.0i and 2.0i Sport arrive in early 2017.
All Imprezas have a revised FB 2-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine with 152hp (113kW), up 4hp (3kW). The base model sedan has a mileage rating of 32mpg combined (7.3L/100km).
