The A453 Smart ForTwo cabrio will become the cheapest convertible available in the USA when it goes on sale in the fall for US$18,900.
The 2017 Smart ForTwo cabrio will start at US$18,900 for the manual, and US$19,890 for dual-clutch automated transmission. Although it will be the only convertible under US$20,000, it will also be most expensive model in the US Smart lineup which starts US$14,650 for the Smart ForTwo Pure hatch.
The electric canvas top can slide back like a giant sunroof, or it go all the way back for the full convertible experience if you remove the roof bars. The canvas roof retracts in 12 seconds.
