The next generation Nissan Armada won’t be based on the new Titan pickup, but will instead be a rebadged Y62 Nissan Patrol.
An image reportedly leaked from an ad agency shows an slightly updated version of the Y62 Nissan Patrol posing as the next generation Armada.
Changes from the Patrol that’s already on sale overseas include new headlights with LED elements, revised grille insert, new more aggressive bumpers, gray platsic wheel arch extensions, and side marking lights for the US.
A version of the current Y62 Patrol is already sold in the States as the Infiniti QX80 (initially branded as the QX56).
The original QX56 was based on the Nissan Armada, itself a SUVized version of the original Titan pickup. When the QX56 was redesigned, it became a Patrol with a new nose and taillights, and more equipment. So, making the next Armada a Patrol is really a no brainer. In fact, we’re surprised they haven’t done it earlier.
