Priced at US$20,650, the new Hyundai Elantra Eco has a small 1.4-liter turbocharged gas engine, skinny tires, and a focus on improving mileage.
Under the hood there’s a 1.4-liter turbocharged direct injection gas engine with 128hp (95kW) and 156 lb-ft (212Nm). Power goes to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
According to the EPA’s rules, the Elantra Eco has mileage figures of 32mpg (7.3L/100km) city, 40mpg (5.9L/100km) highway and 35mpg (6.7L/100km) combined.
Standard features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane changing assitance, proximity key, push button start, heated front seats, dual zone climate control, leather steering wheel and gear knob, and LED daytime running lights.
