2017 Ford Super Duty: High strength steel frame, aluminum body

The new 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks, the F-250, F-350 and F-450, feature an all-new high strength steel frame and an aluminum body.

The Super Duty’s new frame is fully boxed and consists of 95 percent high strength steel, and is 24 times stiffer than the old model’s. The open C-channel design allows modifiers to easily modify the Super Duty’s body and frame.

There’s also a new aluminum alloy body that’s lighter, more dent resistant, and completely rust resistant. With the new frame and body, the new Super Duty is up to 350 pounds (159kg) lighter than the old model.

Features new to the Ford Super Duty range include LED lights for the headlights, taillights, mirror spot lights, and cargo box lighting; adaptive cruise control, surround view vision, trailer tire pressure monitoring, adaptive steering, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure monitoring.

The Super Duty can be had with up to seven cameras, including one that looks straight into cargo box,

Three engines are available in the Super Duty range: a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel, a 6.8-liter V10 gasoline, and a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine.

The Super Duty range is available in five specification levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum.
