The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has taller off-road ready suspension, a wider front and rear track, more protection, and electronic locking differentials.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is the first off-road vehicle to have Multimatic DSSV (dynamic suspensions spool valve) dampers that are also used on Formula 1 cars and the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.
The ZR2 also has suspension that 2 inches (51mm) taller, functional rocker protector panels, 17-inch alloy wheels with 31-inch Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires, cast iron control arms, and a front and rear track that’s 3.5 inches (89mm) wider.
There’s also a tapered front bumper for better approach angles, an aluminum skid plate protecting the engine, a transfer case shield, and a black grille.
A bed mounted spare tire carrier is an option.
The ZR2 is available with a 3.6-liter V6 with 308hp (230kW) and 275 lb-ft (373Nm), and an 8-speed automatic. There’s also a Duramax turbo-diesel that makes 181hp (135kW) and 369 lb-ft (500Nm).
