2017 Chevrolet Colorado: Global facelift revealed by Brazil’s S10

The facelift for the GMT 31XX Chevrolet Colorado that’s sold outside of North America has been unveiled in Brazil, where the pickup is sold as the Chevy S10.

The updated global Chevrolet Colorado pickup and its Trailblazer passenger SUV spinoff were previewed by the Colorado Xtreme and Trailblazer Premier concepts.

Naturally those concepts were almost right on the money, except for their eye catching paint jobs, huge alloy wheels and other bits of show car flair.

The Colorado/S10 facelift includes a new nose with new headlamps with LED elements, bolder grille, new bumpers, and a completely new dashboard with soft touch materials. The revised Colorado/S10 is also claimed to be 5 percent lighter too, and adopts electric power steering and a new suspension system.

Marcos Munhoz, vice president of General Motors, says, “We took the concept of the American version of the Colorado pickup truck and brought to new S10. Thus, the Brazilian truck strengthens its off-road capability adding the comfort of a passenger car.”

The Colorado/S10’s MyLink infotainment system is available with GPS sat nav and OnStar, and supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

New features for Brazilian S10 models include automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, self-dimming mirrors, reversing camera with guidelines, front parking sensor, remote start, and remote electric window operation.

In Brazil, the S10 is available in four trim levels (LS, LT, LTZ and High Country), three body styles (single, double and chassis cab), two transmissions (6-speed auto or 6-speed manual), and two engines (2.8-liter turbo diesel and 2.5-liter SIDI flex fuel). 4×2 and 4×4 versions are also available.
