For the Volkswagen Golf GTI’s 40th birthday, Volkswagen will make a 265PS/195kW version of the hot hatch.
The EA888 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine has been tweaked to make 265PS/195kW and 280 lb-ft/380Nm. That’s up from the 230PS/169kW and 350Nm engine in the GTI Performance.
There’s a new front bumper with larger intakes, 18-inch alloy wheels, new roof spoiler, rear diffuser, and dark red LED taillights. Alcantara sports seats with special embossing and new floor mats mark out the interior.
There’s also a boost function that can increase output by 10 percent for a short period of time.
