The new Smart Brabus versions of the ForTwo hatch and convertible, and ForFour hatch, are all powered by a 900cc turbocharged I3 engine.
The 898cc 3-cylinder turbocharged engine has been retuned to develop 80kW (109hp) at 5,750rpm and 170Nm (125 lb-ft) at 2,000rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission that’s been tuned to deliver 40 percent quicker shifts than in non-Brabus versions of the ForTwo and ForFour.
The tiny turbo engine cis good a 0-100km/h time of 9.5 seconds in both ForTwo body styles. Top speed in the Brabus ForTwo is 160km/h.
The larger ForFour Brabus requires 10.5 seconds to hit 100km/h, but has a higher top speed of 180km/h.
All the Smart Brabus ForTwo and ForFour models are fitted with 20 percent stiffer Brabus performance suspension, speed sensitive power steering, launch control for the DCT, and sports exhaust.
In Germany, the Smart Brabus ForTwo hatch (coupe!) is priced from €19,710, the cabriolet starts at €22,970, and the ForFour begins at €20,520.
The better equipped Xcluive model adds €3,000 to each body style, and includes Brabus Nappa heated leather seats, revised instruments, retrimmed dashboard, and LED lighting.
