Developed with major stakeholder Dongfeng, the new T9 Peugeot 308 sedan is built on the hatch’s EMP2 platform, but seems to have a longer wheelbase.
The classy sedan has an extra set of windows, and piano black plastic insert across the trunk lid to emphasize its width.
When it goes on sale in the second half of 2016, the new sedan will probably use the same 1.2 and 1.6 litre gas engines as the 308S hatch (known as just the 308 in Europe and elsewhere).
For the 308S hatch, there’s an entry level 1.6-liter 4-cylinder with 86kW (115hp) and 150Nm (111 lb-ft), a mid range 1.2-liter turbo with 100kW (134hp) and 230Nm (170 lb-ft), and a top of the range 1.6-liter turbo with 123kW (165hp) and 245Nm (181 lb-ft).
