2016 Infiniti QX50: LWB standard in US with shorter prices

Based on the just done and dusted Q40 (previous the G), the QX50 (launched as the EX) has been criticised for not offering enough space.

That’s fixed now that the LWB model, originally developed China, is only the one available in US.

The QX50 has a standard 3.7-liter V6 with 325hp (242kW) and a 7-speed auto. Pricing for the RWD model starts US$34,450, and the AWD version is US$35,850.

Available gear includes LED driving lights, a new grille, mirrors, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch infotainment display, electric front seats, electric folding for the second row, leather, Bose audio with 11 speakers, around view cameras, and downshift matching transmission.

Even with 4.5 inches of extra length, and updated styling, the QX50 can’t hide the fact that it first debuted in 2007.

The result is an 8.3 cubic feet increase in interior volume (115.4 cubic feet total volume versus the previous 107.1 cubic feet). Most of the increase in interior space can be felt in the 2nd row – rear legroom grows by 4.3 inches and rear knee room is boosted by 3.9 inches.
