2016 Hyundai i20 Active is all show, no off-road go

The new Hyundai i20 Active will go on sale across Europe from early 2016, but the high riding i20 hatch has no go to match its off-roader styling.

That’s because Hyundai makes no mention of all-wheel drive. The i20 Active does have raise suspension for improved clearance of 20mm (0.8 inches).

There’s also skid plates on the front and back, and wheel arch cladding.

The i20 Active, 5-door hatch and “Coupe” 3-door will also gain a new 1-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine soon. There’s a 100PS/74kW version for improved fuel economy, and a more powerful 120PS/88kW version too.
